Brighton residence additions
Construction 1999
The project site is on a corner block adjacent to an existing church hall and tennis court. No heritage controls were applied at the time, but although the client brief suggested a knockdown rebuild the existing Edwardian dwelling was retained and restored, with major additions as attached pavilion forms within a compound area relating to the neighbouring church hall context.
The new pavilions clad with zinc shingles provide a robust and playful character.
