Middle Park Corner Shop

Completely reconfigured internal layout of a former Heritage protected corner shop and dwelling into a single residence leaving only one small room in its original form.
New generous stair replacing existing stair to create generous entry and safe stair travel, altering ceiling and floor heights to create a third level for a study with city views and easily accessible bulk roof storage creating more floor area without the need for extending.
The minor intervention on the original external fabric was done with seamless original details including swapping over entry door and window on the street façade to better accommodate a floor plan that favours a single dwelling rather than a shop and dwelling.
Whilst the envelope was treated as a piece of historic fabric inside the internal detailing is contemporary and crisp with shadow line detailing and pivoting doors to contrast with the retained shell envelope.
