Hotel Sorrento units
Planning Permit 1998
Construction Drawings 2000
Construction 2001
Six new one-bedroom hotel units providing additional accommodation facilities at a seaside holiday town.
Sea views are provided from all units, backlit by extensive glazing at both ends of the units to reduce the glare off the water view. Sound privacy between units is provided by solid masonry construction with suspended concrete floor slabs and each unit has an individual external entry not requiring travel past other units.
The units are built on an elevated sloping site to the building footprint of the shed building that previously occupied the site and contained within the planning scheme envelope control of 8 metres height above ground level which generated a 10 degree roof pitch matching the fall of the ground.
