Serisier House Camp Cove

Sketch Design 2001
Contract Drawings 2007
Construction 2009

Featured in the book Serisier House published by White Buffalo, available for purchase from Liverpool Street Galleries Sydney.

A priority for the project was to integrate the new building within the neighbourhood character in response to the client brief and strict heritage controls.

Although the building presents a small street presence, with the appearance of a single-storey weatherboard cottage, it is of solid reinforced concrete construction throughout and internal spaces are optimised within the building envelope, including a second storey within the roof form containing bedrooms, a bathroom and storage. The ground floor garage opening is discreetly integrated into the cottage street facade.

The interior presents natural finishes and materials throughout - polished unpainted hard plaster walls, Victorian bluestone floors, American red oak ceilings and woodwork. Wall areas are optimised as hanging space for exhibition of paintings.
